# Anybody been to Puerto Rico beaches?

The beaches in Puerto Rico are beautiful. The water is generally calmer on the San Juan side of the island. As for wearing a thong on a beach, my suggestion is find the beach that calls to you and go for it. I’ve never had any negatives wearing a thong on the beaches in Puerto Rico.
The beaches in the San Juan area will be more populated. Once you get out to Fajardo, Ponce, or pretty much anywhere else you will encounter more open space.

Very first time I wore a swim thong in public was in PR at the Hilton Condado about 10 years ago. No issues at all. I still remember how liberating it felt.
