Skinz Under New Ownership

Just an VRBO about a mile from the food lion. Unless we got evacuated due to Erin.

@Ohharley … not far from the Food Lion in Avon. Unfortunately we got a mandatory evacuation order thanks to Erin. Currently we’re up on Virginia Beach.

Is it because of rip tides or has the weather changed? Hopefully you’ll still get plenty of thonging weather and time!

@Ohharley … possibility of NC 12 washing out and stranding people on the island … we got a forced mandatory evacuation.

I saw the news last night, yikes! Hope you can salvage some vacation time.

I have been researching the Skinzwear styles for a couple years now but have yet to make a purchase. The biggest turnoff for me is the size and type of stitching on the waist and leg bands. The “W-shaped” stitching reminds me of the design on the front of Charlie Brown’s shirt. Why is it so big? I would prefer the stitching to me more refined before considering making a purchase.

I’m by no means a seamstress but I believe it’s that “W” pattern that allows the stretchy material to stretch without pulling the stitches out. Personal opinion here….they are high quality suits that fit well and last a long time if cared for. If that element bothers you that much it may not be the suit for you, but I personally would highly recommend.

I will be visiting the store in Clearwater in March. I am hoping something I may want will be in stock. I have been looking at styles M55 and M77, in the Thin SkinZ material.

Those are my top two favorites.

The M55 an M77 are my favorite two styles.

Totally agree with the M55. I have a black one and a neon yellow one bought before the prices went silly. Both very well designed with a quality construction. Always a pleasure to wear

Hi! Tatjana here, the new owner of Skinz :)- as of mid 2024. Thank you for your feedback. Some of the styles do have the stitching you mentioned (which is 2-needle cover-stitch), but we usually use this stitching for styles with binding (usually contrasting band that goes around the edges). The zig-zag stitching has been our signature Skinz stitch . However, since we can make anything custom for our clients, please keep in mind you can tell us which styles you like and we can make them for you with any adjustments, including stitching. Lead-time for Custom and Special Orders is currently 3 weeks (special orders are those items we have on our website but not in a current collection, and we do not have in stock any longer, as they were in the past. We can still make these for you :). Please give us a call or simply go to our Custom Studio (in the main menu of our website) and create your own design with instructions if anything you wish to adjust. There is an additional cost, comparing to the pieces from current collection, but it is still very reasonable :). We hope to get you to shop with us. Thank you! Regards, Tatjana

We have some new cool fabrics for 2026. We just sent the Newsletter on Wednesday and one just an hour ago (Super Thin Skinz fabrics - new colors, and some new prints for 2026). You can create your favorite styles in Custom Studio on our website with any of these fabrics, of course. We also have new collections coming out in a few weeks, of stock items. We are excited! Please make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter. Thank you! Tatjana

Hi! Please note, we will be adding this feature to the website we are updating, but also keep in mind, you can put this in notes section as you are placing your custom order and we will be able to see your request. For different color string, there is no additional cost, so it would just be as simple as adding a note to your order to change color of the strings. Thank you! Regards, Tatjana

I’ve ordered several custom suits with solid colored strings and print fabric. All turned out great.
