# Thonging in Bali

Just adding my personal experiences of thonging in Bali. I’ve worn swim thongs in various public beaches and hotel pools and frankly most people don’t really care. The most you’ll get is a smile or a quick stare. A significant majority of women will also wear thong bikinis, covering up only with sheer sarongs when outside the beach or the pool in coastal areas. I’ve only seen one other male thonger in my years of visiting Bali, though.
To name a few, I’ve walked through the entire strech of Jimbaran, Sanur, Canggu, and Nusa Dua beach and had a pretty positive experience overall.

Thanks for sharing your Bali experience. Been wonder if I could wear thongs in Bali on a trip planned for a few days in June. Looking forward to wearing things now!

Can confirm wore thongs for 3 days in Bali last week & not a word from anyone. Some sideways glances from some other tourists who then promptly ignored me. Others came & set up next to me on the day beds without so much as blinking. Even wore a gstrimg at the hotel pool (only 10 adults around) and it was like it was quite normal (as it should be). Going for another day of beach in transit before heading home. Might just stick with gstrings this time
