I like to stick to secluded areas of the beach where there are plenty of other people in thongs. I find it exciting to walk the beach in a thong and pass by people. What’s been said before, but I’ll reinforce, is to be confident and act normal.
I have not gotten a negative comment or been confronted. I’ve seen a snicker or two or a quiet comment among a couple, but that’s okay. Everyone has an opinion. To people who don’t thong, I know it’s a little shocking to see a man in a thong while not batting an eye at a woman in one. Part of our job is to share our experiences and help normalize thongs.
I find it very exciting when I see a couple or a group of people wearing small swimwear together. I once saw a group of 6–8 young adults, mixed males and females, all very fit—you could tell they were gym buddies. All of them were wearing thongs and bikinis. I walked by, and several of them waved at me in approval of my swimwear. It was a great confidence booster. I yelled that they all looked great, and we exchanged thumbs up.
