Charlie By MZ Boomerang Swim Thong

I hesitate to call any thong perfect. We all have different bodies and preferences. My favorite might be your least favorite, and vice versa. My own preferences can even change over time. There’s one thong, however, I’ve worn more often than any other this summer, and that’s the Charlie By MZ Boomerang Swim Thong.

“Featherweight” is the word that comes to mind when I describe this swimsuit. The fabric is softer and stretchier than almost every other thong in my collection. It’s fully lined, fits securely, and because it’s so stretchy, it doesn’t dig into the hips. The Boomerang has a full-coverage front and skinny sides. The inner tag tears out easily, and there’s a small metal tag sewn in the back. The matte solids and patterns are chic. It’s a modern take on the classic high-waisted thong and makes me feel great every time I put it on.

It’s not, however, without its downsides. At the regular price of $110–125, even with Charlie By MZ’s frequent sales, it’s still more expensive than other high-quality brands. Thongs are “Final Sale” and are not eligible for return or exchange, so it can be rather costly if you aren’t satisfied.

While sizing is consistent within each style, it’s not consistent across the entire collection. I prefer the extra small Charlie by MZ Swim Thong (which wasn’t available this year), but the medium in the Boomerang. I wish their size chart was more accurate. The model’s measurements are worthless. I’m nothing like the 6’2", 32-inch waist, 44-inch chest guy who apparently wears the same size in the photos.

Finally, the stitching on the metal tag doesn’t hold up to regular use. Fortunately, it can be easily removed without damaging the suit. Many establishments ban swimsuits with any sort of metal adornments, so it’s kind of silly to have it in the first place.

It’s far from perfect, but, nevertheless, is my personal favorite at the moment. Charlie by MZ refreshes their collection annually, so it’s impossible to say if it’ll be back next summer, and there’s not much left in stock. If it comes back in new patterns and colors, I might be tempted to add some to my collection.

Thanks for the review! I’ve been debating whether to get the Charlie MZ Boomerang swim thong. I have the traditional Charlie MZ swim thong in 5 different colors. It’s by far my favorite of any swim thong as it fits me perfectly and I like the extra security of a draw string. The Boomerang appears to have much less coverage (like a g-string) and lacks a draw cord. I hope Charlie MZ brings back their traditional swim thong. Expensive yes, but amazing quality and comfort.
