Happy Father’s day to everyone. Great sunny warm weather in the area and was able to swim laps at the outdoor public pool today. I took advantage of it being quieter as it just opened at 11 am. I arrived around 11:30 and there was less than 20 people total. It’s a family friendly public pool with children from toddler to early teen. I’ve only had one child comment that I was wearing a “bikini”. I wore a Jaxfstk string thong. Swam 2000 meters, felt relaxed and made improvements on my swim freestyle stroke. Nobody has issues with what I wear but it’s been more than a year since any female wore a thong there. I keep to myself, avoid collisions frequently when kids are playing, and in general just having a good time.
Swam 2.30 kms this morning in my Kiniki Spectre non tan through thong. Swim started at 5.30 on a cold and dark southern hemisphere winter morning. The pool is outdoor and well lit, with the water being about 26 degrees celsius. I know I was followed by a few of the swim squad girls, but my bum did not get any reaction that I heard. Most of the squad girls wear togs that show similar amounts of buttock, so not that much of a shock. My usual swim buddy Debbie swam with me, as well as 4 other ladies and a couple of men. No comments or complaints from any of them. I now feel totally relaxed swimming in a thong. If you haven’t tried it, give it a go.
On this trip, my GF and I have been doing daily open water swims of about 2km in thongs. Definitely the right tool for the job, they feel frictionless.
A funny thing happened this week. I swam at my usual outdoor pool in a Kiniki thong. it was cold and windy {winter here in Australia} day, and 4 of the caps they put on the blocks to stop diving, had blown into the water. They were all in the area I was swimming, so I asked the lifeguard if he wanted my help to get them out? The water that end is 2 metres deep, and I realised that I would need to do a duck dive to pick them up. If the guard was not aware of my thong, he certainly was after my helping him. He thanked me for my help, and made no mention of my attire. Again it proves if you just act naturally, you should be fine.
I had a bad experience myself. Yesterday, I went to the only outdoor pool that allows thongs and the one guy I previously had an argument with returned to make his offense of apparel known. I explained to him NOBODY has issues with them, I have never heard complaints from any parent or child, and it is allowed by the establishment. I don’t have to live by his moral code and he continued to say that people are offended and afraid to say something. He is the only person that has ever took offense. While I still defend wearing them, these are the situations that discourage others. It has made me consider not going to this pool ever again.
Tell him to fuck off.
I agree with hizurutees!
I agree in principle but not necessarily in practice. Men in thongs are in a bit of a marginalized group, and “management” in general is conservative. In a noisy dispute, I bet it’s more likely that the establishment will make its policy more restrictive rather than tell one whiner that he’s in the wrong. I hope you can resolve the issue!
I agree. My point arguing with the guy is I was complying with the rules, women have worn them there regardless if he hadn’t seen them before. His morals are not the rule. I kept my calm because any further escalation is worse. Everyone there just wants to have fun. Parents have never said they had a problem, just him.
Or just ignore him, don’t give him the satisfaction of a response. My F off response is really geared if he got in your face. You don’t even have to yell, stand your ground. If women can wear thong, so can guys.
The manager at my pool said that if anyone complains about your thong, send them to me. That would be my response.
Respectfully tell him to, “enjoy your swim” and disengage. It’s been my experience that people who approach me aggressively (in life, not jist a thong) are looking for a confrontation. Do not give it to them.
I swam my usual 2 km in a JAXFSTK pink tiger thong. I waited for a senior swim squad to finish before jumping in the vacated lane. The girls exiting the water were nearly all wearing Engine I piece bathers, and they varied between half butt coverage to almost no coverage. I walked past the girls and their coaches to jump in. There was no comment from anyone about my bathers, or my butt. One of the girls did have a big bemused smile on her face. Not sure if it was the bright colours of my bathers, my perfectly tanned butt, or the temporary tattoos I had on each cheek. Again it proves that if you act like you belong, and don’t do anything creepy, you should be fine.
I did 2.1 km today in my local outdoor pool. I have been wanting to swim in just a g string, so I put one on under my normal thong. The normal one is by Kiniki, and it has a tie cord with generous coverage at the front, sides which are about 2.5 cms and the thong bit slightly thinner. It is conservative by thong standards. For the last 200 metres I swam in just the g string. This g string was by Kiniki too, and strictly speaking was underwear. It was a polyester and Lycra blend, and I was not sure if it would be OK to swim in. Kiniki don’t make (soon I hope) a swim string. It turned out to be more than adequate, and kept everything in place. I did feel less at ease in the g. Just that little less material made me feel more vulnerable. Walking to change rooms also felt more naked.
I swam another 2.1 km today, but this post is about seeing another thonger. I was chatting to the lifeguard after getting changed, and the gent walked up to the edge wearing a green and white striped thong/g string. The guard and I had seen him before, and Deb (the guard) greeted him warmly asking how he was, and had he been away, as she had not seen him for a while. Yes he had been away. He sported a very even tan which showed no thong lines, and was very relaxed and comfortable in his very minimal suit. I had to ask what brand it was, and he replied that it was one of his own making.
