Follow your GPS for Desoto and use some of the tips listed in this thread. There are very few amenities at the park like renting a chair or umbrella. There are loungers near the fort you can use for free if you get there early. However, you’ll be right next to the Fort with crowds.

Thanks for the information. We’re trying to find a Turo that offers chairs and stuff to rent. If we don’t have any luck, we’ll probably just go back to Galveston since we can drive there. Appreciate the help.
The other day a guy was riding his bike down the beach. He looked really fit and you usually don’t see bikes on the beach since it’s illegal. When I looked back at him, he was wearing a light blue thong. About an hour later he was back in my area. He must have biked all over the park in his thong. I think it’s awesome that people saw him. Get the word out that thongs are normal at Ft. Desoto.

Out here this Friday afternoon, solo thonger out here. Got “squatters rights” just before 2 families moved in. Big believer that, hey, I was here first….

Saturday was beautiful. Lost count on how many thong bikinis I saw on the ladies. One girl liked my suit and I said I like hers too, she blushed. I wore a green then switched to a yellow Bang Swim Thong.

Had a great day this past Sat at the Ft. I was out there for 6 hours. The beach was noticeably less crowded. The secluded area was actually a little more busy. I had several people setup near me butt everyone was still pretty spread out. Low tide showed the sand bar and walked back and forth to take advantage. When I left, I noticed there was ample parking near the fort and East Beach. Must be that time of the year with a lower crowd, not complaining, I enjoy the beach when its more quiet.
A mom in a tiger thong bikini screamed walking in the surf. She seemed ok but I walked over to check on her and she had stepped on a fish, she was ok. She thanked me for checking in on her. She did the eye check on me but said nothing about my suit, I prefer it that way. Only saw 2 ladies in a thong Sat, but that’s how it goes, rolling the dice.

I soent 4 hours there on Saturday. Water was a bit too churned up from the effects of Isaias, so went to the beach. Very few people there but the weather turned out pretty nice. Wore a g-string all day and walked from where I set up near the parking lot north to the bird sanctuary 3 times, getting lots of steps in and evening out the tan. I succeeded in burning in a real nice string tan line across my ass!
I normally park further north and walk the trails, but with all the rain lately I figured they’d be under water. Talked with another couple who walked the vehicle trail the rangers use and they said that was under water. He was the only other guy in a g-string, and there was one other guy in a thong. Several very nice looking young ladies in thongs though!

Was out at the Fort yesterday. Weather was perfect and I was there all day. The sun was out all day but it wasn’t hot. You can feel a change in temp in the Gulf too. In the afternoon the wind picked up but I lowered my umbrella and setup my high-wind umbrella. The beach wasn’t packed at all. I walked from the mid-section of the beach just north of the Ft to the bird sanctuary and back several times in a brown thong. Ended up with 30K steps/11 miles walked. Saw a handful of thongs on the ladies and some dudes. One lady was topless in the nude section. It wasn’t packed at all. I saw one couple, lady was in a thong, dude was in a Speedo. I think it’s pretty much expected you are going to see small swimwear at the Fort. IMO this is the best park to wear your bikini, speedo, g-string, or thong.

Reporting in from Port De Soto now. You were very fortunate that the wind was up because today it is down and it was a wall of mosquitoes to go through! I had one experience that was similar to this, but that was when I was seven years old. One for the books.
