I spent a few hours at the hotel pool here in Ponce, Puerto Rico. I’m wearing a colorful bugle enhanced thong. The pool was mostly empty of people. I noticed a woman show up in a black one piece swimsuit. She kept looking over at me as I was buns to the sun. She left for a few minutes and came back and set up much closer to me. I looked over and saw she was pointing her phone right at me, either taking pictures or video. She never said a word to me but caught her telling the person she was talking to on the phone (in Spanish): you have to see this. It’s hot. I stood up and heard her say something like: he’s got a tight butt. I guess she enjoyed the show.
I’ve come to expect people taking video and photos.
That’s awesome. When I first started wearing a thong in public I was too afraid to look at anyone. Now I look for the reactions. I usually wave silently or acknowledge people I walk by the beach first. It tends to break the ice and I get a big smile or others are drifting off while walking. I act normal but the reactions always range. Still never had a negative comment to my face and it’s been all positive. Was told last week from a lady I look “Amazing”….I’ll take that.
It’s somewhat rude, they should engage in conversation and ask, maybe joining in the photo. The explosion of facial recognition, AI, and anything on the internet may last forever. I lived in a small Bible Belt town and owned a business, my thonging is a private choice. I am very comfortable wearing a thong around strangers but not neighbors, business associates, or even most my family.
I don’t particularly care for that either. I have been approached many times on cruise ships and had women ask me or wife if they can take a photo of me or take a photo with me. I’m fine with that!
Just had this happen yesterday. I was at the marina cleaning the boat after taking some family out this weekend. I usually wear a thong when cleaning and covering the boat, many of the people who frequent the marina have seen me before. What’s funny is the people on boats that pass thru the pass running right behind where my boat sits, you can often see someone pointing me out to others on their boat.
Well yesterday, the guy who has a sailboat 2 spots over from my boat had 2 other guys with him prepping his boat for a day on the water. While I was bent over cleaning the aft end of the boat, I turned to reach for something and saw one of the guys, probably 70ish, clearly holding his camera up in my direction taking a photo. The guilty, I’ve been caught look on his face was priceless! I just gave him a WTF look and went about my business. Didn’t see his phone in his hand again, but he sure kept looking….
