Nude beach or no?

Up until this year I had never had an opportunity to go to a nude beach with my wife. She’s worn a thong but usually chooses more conservative swimwear. We were on a long weekend at staying a half block from the beach that was very thong friendly. Half way through the first day she asked me if I wanted to go to the nude beach. About a 30 min uber ride away. I declined (she was a bit surprised) as it didn’t really appeal to me. If it was a half block away or a short walk I probably would have gone and stripped down, but the over all appeal wasn’t there, at least not enough to put the effort into making the trip. Not my thing I guess. Wondering what others think about wearing a thong versus a nude beach.

I have been to a few clothing optional beaches. Over all I like the vibe most of the time with people usually being friendly and relaxed. But, given a preference I would choose beaches that are not necessarily clothing optional. I like to wear my swim thongs and get the tan lines associated with wearing a thong. I also like seeing others wearing their thong bikinis. In my eyes is is much sexier to see someone wearing a thong that going nude.

Great points. I enjoy wearing different suits and going nude removes that opportunity.

I’ve been going to nude beaches for a long time and have always enjoyed them; it’s a comfortable way to enjoy the sun and the water. That being said, it usually requires going out of the way to get to one (ha ha, except in Croatia where they are ubiquitous), so the number of times I get to such beaches per year is “a few”. One nice thing about thongs is that, in terms of comfort, getting a nice tan, having “the right tool for the job” for swimming, I’ve come to prefer thongs over fully nude, particularly when swimming, boogie boarding, and body surfing. And you don’t have to go out of the way since thongs are legal at pretty much any beach now, so the number of times I can get to those beaches is “a lot”.

It seems like most prefer a nude beach whether thong wearers or not. they are nice for a change of pace now and then but they opportunity to do do is few and far between. I definitely like the support of a thong with the feeling of basically being nude at the same time so the best of both worlds. You generally have to go out of your way to be able to sun in a thong on a beach so the convenience makes it more appealing as well. I also agree that leaving at least something to the imagination is more appealing. It’s also interesting to see what others tastes are in swimwear and what they are comfortable in around others.

Wife and I love going to nude beaches, it is just too freeing/liberating to pass up. Got her to try it about 6 years ago when we were traveling thru Miami, took her all of 3 minutes to take off swimsuit and never looked back! Just yesterday and 2 days before we took our boat out to a very regular spot of ours in the mouth of Tampa Bay, it’s a sand bar called Passage Key (aka Naked Island). We have friends staying with us who we converted several years ago and all went.

If I’m not able to be nude, then it’s a g-string or thong to stay legal. When we come back from a day on the boat I usually wear a thong or g-string back to the marina and to clean up the boat.

My preference is nude beach if it’s accessible and a good beach. Where I am the unofficial nude beach is ages away and not nearly as nice as other beaches. I like thongs because it’s less fabric but still lets you go to closer or better beaches where you can’t go nude.

I found a nude beach to be the perfect place to go for the first few times to wear my thongs in public it certainly helped me build my confidence.

Same here. We go to Playalinda and I find myself more comfortable wearing my thong.

Love nude beaches but they’re generally hard to get to. Therefore the local textile beach is a lot more accessible.

Funnily enough, I’ve never sunbathed, nor worn swimwear at one. I’ve passed through wearing jeans and a tee. All of California’s nude beaches involve walking a bit… although I’ve also seen people bathe nude at quieter non-nude beaches too
