Open water swimming

I was just confidently informed on Reddit (admittedly a home for the confidently incorrect) that the Skinz M67 suits I’ve been wearing for the past several years are (1) actually underwear and (2) not for swimming in, they’re just for tanning.

I do wonder, though, am I the only one doing open water swims in thongs? I mean, it’s a great suit for swimming: stays in place, zero drag. What am I missing? :laughing:

[edited] Folks, I know the M67 a swimsuit. I was poking fun at the confidently incorrect Redditor. But I am genuinely curious if there are other open water swimmers here. I wish my home beach got warm enough for this earlier than, like, August.

M67 is a swimsuit. Swim all you want in it. As for open water swims in thongs…I don’t do it in the regular, but while on certain vacations I have done open water swims in thongs, as well as snorkeling.

I do open water swimming in thongs whenever I have a beach holiday! For me, wearing it is no different to swimming laps in an indoor or outdoor pool wearing a thong, which I also do on a regular basis. My collection of swim thongs have also steadily increased as a result of me using thongs as my primary swimwear.

Yes I swim open water in a M67, it’s great, never any issues. I do up to 2km in the Australian summer. I’ve done laps at the pool in one too, great also except it was a black thin skinz and I realised after that the fabric isn’t good with chlorine.

I open water swim at the beach as well. Always in my thong. I’ll walk down the beach with my kickboard and flippers. One lady did a double take and I waved at her.

At this point my open water swim gear is (1) an M67 thong and (2) Aquasphere swim goggles. They both fit in one pocket of my shorts, LOL, so I don’t need to carry much with me.

Correct! You can do whatever you feel like doing in the M67. No rules. :wink:
