Scuba diving in a thong?

I got certified last year in Belize and would love to scuba in a thong.

Anyone try that before?

I wore one on a dive but with my wetsuit. When we got to our spot to change I dropped my shorts but had my t-shirt on and put on my wetsuit. You could still clearly see my thong but nobody said anything.

Thongs are my choice for what to wear under a wetsuit, anything else is just not comfortable. I haven’t been diving with just a thong, but I have snorkled countless times in just a thong. In fact, the guys that work the catamarans in St Kitts, the ones that take you on snorkle trips, they all know me as Thong Man.

Master diver here and all I wear are thongs and a rash guard.

Do you mind if I ask where you are diving in just a thong and rash guard? What is the reaction by other people on the boat or your dive buddies? Positive or negative comments?

All over the Caribbean and Hawaii. No one even cared. My IG is thethongviking2 and I can tell you more.

Just would like to know if you were on huge dive boat with say 30+ divers or was it a smaller dive boat with a more intimate group? Did you arrive in board shorts with the thong underneath and take off the shorts when you prepare to dive or did you walk right up to the dock/boat from the beginning in the thong?

Just trying to figure out the best way to go about this while avoiding any drama.

Small group of about 12 all kinds of people. I wore shorts and then took them off on board. I had my thong underneath. Done it many times. As you know on a dive boat there aren’t really big groups.

I’ve always wondered about this lol. Would be an awesome experience. Heck just going into the water on the beach feels amazing.

I have never been to Belize, but the pictures I have seen look amazing!. I think someone on this forum once cautioned about wearing a thong there on the beaches. It was a British colony for about 140 years and the culture is fairly conservative. I suppose if you’re away from shore on a boat the only people to be concerned about are your fellow divers. Have fun and let us know how it went.

I was in Belize in December and at the hotel we were staying at, I would say 30% of women were wearing thongs or cheeky bottoms.
