For anyone who has purchased both Skinz and Muscleskins thongs, I am wondering which you prefer.
I am a huge fan of Skinz thongs (M67 and M77). I have many pairs and love how they fit/feel. I have always been curious about Muscleskins, but have not purchased any yet. I wished they used live models like Skinz, so you can get a good idea of what they really look like. I am also wondering which Muscleskins style is most comparable to the Skinz M67 or M77 stuffit thong. I haven’t really seen many sales from Muscleskins, but would like to at least try one if they are as well made as Skinz and have a similar fit/feel.

I have the Skinz M67 and the Muscleskins Poser (thong seat, 3cm sides, with “standard” sizing for everything else that’s customizable). They’re both good swimsuits, but I prefer the Skinz thong.
That mostly comes down to style. The Skinz M67 covers more in the front and sits higher on the hips. The Muscleskins Poser has a lower rise and a smaller, more form fitting pouch. The stitching on the Skinz swimsuit is cleaner, but the Muscleskins thong is reasonably well made, especially considering they’re sewn to order. There’s a seam up the back of the Muscleskins thong, which is a bit unusual, but not uncomfortable.
The Skinz M77 might be more comparable to the Muscleskins Poser thong. I don’t own the M77, but it appears to have a lower rise and smaller pouch than the M67.
Pay careful attention to the Muscleskins size chart. They run small.
I agree about the photos. The 3D renders on the Muscleskins website aren’t very helpful.
You are correct. The M77 does have a smaller pouch than the M67. At first I thought they were too small, but I have gotten used to it. Both are great suits for tanning and general beach wear.
I will probably just stick to the tried and true Skinz suits based on your better description of the Muscleskins suits. I was thinking the Muscleskins suits may be somewhere in between the M67 and M77. I know they have a few options on side widths and other measurements, though. I also like that Skinz has more color options.
I have not tried Skinz or Muscleskins. I don’t know if I will purchase either one.
I love thongs and g-strings that are form fitting to the package, not a lot of material on the sides in the front, and waistbands that are not too wide and not too thin, unless it is a g-string. For a thong, I like the waistband to be comparable in width to the back center material. I think it is disproportional if the waistband is a string and the back is wider or vice versa.
I wear thongs and g-strings and love them both. It just depends on the venue, the vibe, etc.
I completely agree! Although both are great, I prefer Skinz. They offer so many more style and fabric options. I do quite like the Muscleskins suit I have, but I’ve never ordered from them beyond my initial order.
I like Skinzwear for Thinskinz because I love the transparency of the thong/g-string. I recently bought a pair that was supposed to be solid, but it became a bit transparent. My wife’s girlfriend stared at it, and being bright green, she said she could see everything. Oh well. Muscleskins is great as well, but over time its elastic seems to stretch—still fits, but it easily comes off when you dive into the pool.
Both work well, honestly. I tend to lean Muscleskins only because of the customizability. I’m on the smaller size, so I’ve worked with them to really get my front pouch size and rear seat height just right. I also really like their poser pouch. I want to try their torpedo one day, but I’m nervous about wearing a torpedo in public. I’m still trying to get used to the poser. Just gotta get over the fear.
I wore the Torpedo among friends, and it does not leave anything to the imagination. I say go for it! My friends stared at it for a while but got over it after some time in the pool and walking around on the deck. But I would say it gives a natural lift.
