The closest I’ve ever come to an existential crisis was sitting ass down in a thong bikini while Rio’s ocean water washed over me. The crisis was a long-time coming, the thong was a compromise, and the waves were convenient for hiding both.
Build up confidence anyway you can. You are doing this for yourself. Plus I imagine being around others in small swimwear helps. I want to try the beaches in Ft. Lauderdale and South Beach.
I remember my first thong experience too … lots of anxiety. Took several trips to the beach to get over it, especially as a male. What I’ve learned … Most people don’t care. Those who do are battling their own issues. When confronted I’m polite but not apologetic. After they’ve said their piece, I tell them, “I hope you have a great day at the beach” and then stop engaging. I’ve never had an issue beyond that. I also only thong where it’s legal (not always where it’s 100% accepted).
