Thank you for your great beach review. Where in Newport did you go? While growing up there, it was only board shorts for guys. Glad to hear it’s evolved some.
I was just down the stairs and to the right at Inspriation Point. That’s still Newport right?
Does anyone have feedback on West Street Beach in Laguna Beach. Looking to spend a day at a SoCal beach where wife and I aren’t the only ones in thongs/g-strings. Prefer we might see both male and female to further normalize.
Any other options?

Love this beach and frequent quute a bit myself. Just about all of the gals are in thongs/g-strings, and even some of the guys too. The younger crowd tends to favor the South end, and gets more mature as you venture north. The top part by Camel Point is notoriously a gay beach, but there is always a good mix of men and women. Check the tides so your chairs dont get swamped, and keep your food contained, as the sea birds are not shy anf will raid your lunch the second you get up to take a dip. Keep your eyes open too as ive seen plenty of dolphin, seals and even whales not very far offshore. There are multiple access points, but are about 125-150 stairs down to the beach - worth it, and you get some good leg work in too! Holler if youd like some company! K
