Speedo or Brief Over Thong

Does anyone else wear a speedo or brief style suit over their thong? Helps me at least ease into stripping down to a thong. Just curious how common this is.

I honestly think if I had done this, I never would have gotten past the swim brief stage. I can justify using board shorts as a cover-up, but if I wore briefs over a thong, it would feel more like hiding. But I am not you!

I do this all the time when I go to a wave pool in Pittsburgh where thongs and g-strings are legal. The reason being is I don’t want any Karens with children confronting me as I walk from the restroom to my setup spot. People with children seem to mostly set up on the side of the pool nearest the entrance and the restrooms. I will walk past them wearing Cocksox briefs or trunks to a spot further away. I don’t go to the absolute far side away from everyone but I will set up near other people. I have also noticed if I get there early and immediately go to a g-string, other people have no issues setting up near me. I also don’t just lay out to tan. I will go into the water to cool down from time to time. I have not had anyone say a word to me, but I know there are many eyes on me as I walk to and from the water. I am by no means trying to be an exhibitionist. I am just working on my all-over tan at a location nearest my home, even if it is 2-1/2 hours away.

If I lived near a beach, I would be the resident thong/g-string wearer because I would be there almost every day. Time will tell when I finally retire. Someday I hope to find a seasonal location to visit a few times a year.

I´ve work a speedo over my thong when I was at a very crowded beach and I was hesitant to walk in my thong into the water or go for a stroll along the shore. When sitting on my towel I would remove the speedo and just sit there in my thong, also lying on my stomach. It´s easier to thong when you are in your space and only people directly around you can see you. Sometimes it can feel a bit too much walking along the beach in a thong, especially if you are the only male. A speedo is a good cover for those situations.

I used to bring cover up shorts when I went for a walk. I wouldn’t wear it but would carry it. I never put on the cover shorts and eventually stopped bringing it with me. It gave me the challenge to walk the beach in my thong and embrace it fully.

I have a question.

There are “creepy” and “not creepy” ways to walk along the beach, but I’m not sure how to characterize it other than “I know it when I see it”. For example, there’s this guy at my local beach who always wears swim briefs, one of the few guys not in board shorts. He spends all his time walking up and down the beach and, without question, gives off “creepy exhibitionist” vibes. His behavior makes me extra cautious to be very deliberate about how I take walks. I’m pretty careful only to walk to and from the ocean to cool off, or walk with the pup (which I can’t do again until after Labor Day), or walk with my GF. Long aimless strolls by myself… well, I don’t feel comfortable doing this thanks to creepy exhibitionist guy.

What’s the move?

Act normal, walk the beach as if you are clothed or you’re the only one out there. Wear sunglasses and just focus ahead of you but look around here/there, not necessarily stare at people, but let it be known you are out there just walking. I see people staring all the time, if I’m close enough and I see them looking, I’ll wave or say “Hi” to break the ice that there is a dude walking the beach in a thong.

Heh, which is what I tell other people to do.

Fairly common. Mostly I wear a speedo over from carpark to beach & back. Strip it off on the beach & that’s it. Don’t put it on again to go in for a swim. Might even take a stroll along waters edge & occasionally back to carpark in a thong or gstring. Get some looks but that’s it. Karen’s seem to have given up commenting negatively or smirking as they did a few years ago. Bit hard for them when the beach is covered in female butts in thongs & gstrings. I do keep away from families with young kids but it’s surprising how often they’ll set up near me if I’m there first. No one cares anymore.

I personally don’t or rather I can’t do that as i took the decision to throw out all of my full- back swimwear a few years ago. This was an attempt to force my decision making to have to wear a thong or g-string, as i had no option. However, i would go from, say, the house to the car with a cover-up like shorts, or long T-shirt, until i reached the beach car park, then the cover-up would come off. For me there is no middle ground.

I think you must do whatever works best for you, and if it gets you to the point that you are wearing a thong on the beach then that’s a good thing for you as its another thong wearer on the beach and a good thing for thong wearing in general. Just do whatever works best for you

Must say I’m in same dilemma. Don’t always find it suitable so great to wear briefs as coverup to get a little courage. I have at times started in brief and changed to thong later. I’m still a novice in thong. Have done what you suggest too wearing the brief or shorts on the top of the thong.

Never … seems redundant. I’ll just wear a skimpy pair of shorts or regular shorts.

I do it all the time. The beach in Tacoma has a big parking lot a little ways away from the beach. I take my shorts off at the car, and walk to the beach in my brief and cut off shirt. Once I’m on the beach I take the shirt and brief off and enjoy the day.

When I first saw this thread, I thought it was similar to the terrible trend where many guys wear boxer briefs under their swim shorts. That can’t be practical nor healthy, but shorts offer so little support, everybody just does it.

As something to wear to “ease into” wearing a thong, I really don’t have a reason. Typically Ill bring a beach bag with a small collection of swimsuits I carry to the beach. Depending on the vibe I get there I’ll towel change into whatever I want to wear. Sometimes if I know what I want to wear I’ll just put it on under my jeans, or just wear a towel from my car to the beach.

If I go with a thong, I’ll just go on 100%. Seems like it would be weirder, if I walked in wearing what might be the “skimpiest” swimsuit on the beach, and then just took that off while I was there. Double layering is nice and snug, but it isn’t breathable.

I’ve definitely walked from my car to the beach in a bikini though.

Yesterday while I was at the beach, I went in my usual walk along the shoreline (you can walk well over a mile when the tide is out) and about halfway I saw an army of hr high kids walking towards me…with their parents…there must have been 50 or 60…normally I pay no attention to anyone on the beach, but when I saw the Jr High mob I thought “I’m not dealing with this” and threw my brief on over my thong, walked past the mob and took the brief off again. I have a small beach back pack thing that i keep my phone and stuff in. I try to “read the room” as they say. In some settings, it’s best to just avoid trouble.

I usually wear a pair of 4 inch swim shorts that I have removed the liner. They are really lightweight and comfortable. I use those to walk from the car to the beach and wear them around family and friends. I always have a thong under neath. My friends and family don’t all know about my thong wearing except for a couple of them. One pair of shorts I have are kinda see through when wet with the liner removed. One of my female friends noticed and commented they could see my butt and smiled. I think she has figured it out. As for the boxer briefs under board shorts that has got to be totally uncomfortable and heavy. So impractical and looks awful.
