Thong bikinis on Raglan’s hot sand: Are tiny togs a health hazard?

Earlier this summer I went to Raglan and discovered swimwear had shrunk.

Things I saw at the beach: one shark and two grown men strumming guitars in the sand dunes.

Things I did not see at the beach: full bottom coverage.

I understood it was not 1826 (wool bathing gowns… with built-in hem weights are not safe for surfing) but, as I plonked my boyleg short-clad butt on an ironsand beach, I wondered about the health and safety implications of the thong bikini.
