Thong friendly waterparks

I’m currently looking for a water park in Florida where thong bikinis are allowed because many water parks don’t allow thong bikinis. I don’t want to take any chances and would rather be safe than sorry.

Any suggestions for thong friendly water parks? Thanks

Contact the water park you want to visit and ask if thong swimsuits are permitted.

I was curious and did a bit of googling. In New England water parks, thongs are explicitly disallowed. I’m curious if this is true elsewhere.

Thongs are ok all over EU water parks and public pools AFAIK, and topless for women is also ok but uncommon these days.

I contacted Roy Jenkins pool in Tampa and Flamingo Pool in South Beach and never got a reply. Keeping an eye on this thread because I prefer lap swimming to beaches. And yes, I’m aware of any government run facility says thongs are prohibited. Just providing info and hopefully find places where allowed. I haven’t visited Tampa and South Beach has been more than ten years.

Volcano Bay in Orlando is thong friendly. I haven’t experienced it myself but seen plenty of YouTube videos of ladies and sometimes a man walking around in a thong. I believe Christian Ocean did a video a few years ago.

LOL, this has the most complete description I’ve ever seen for requirements and restrictions for each attraction.

Some places take longer to reply.

I contacted Flamingo Park last year and never got a response. Kept doing searches on other forums and chats, and only came up with “generally” allowed. I haven’t made any firm plans to visit Miami in the near future. Keeping options open to other Florida cities, anywhere I can find a lap pool (private or public) that won’t have issues.

I’ve been to many waterparks in my life and I’ve thought of this before. I have only ever worn swim briefs to waterparks and here’s why: I have a bit of anxiety with going down a slide and getting stuck so I try to do things to avoid the risk of getting stuck or going too slow. Swimwear is just more slippery than your bare bum, even when wet. Do you ever run the palm of your hands together and it doesn’t slide very easily? It feels like it stops and goes again (which is the best way i can explain it) - whether your hands are dry or wet. Or sometimes if you’re going down a slide and want to go faster you raise your legs up a bit so that your skin isn’t making contact with the slide. Can’t do that when wearing a thong.

Furthermore, you never know what you’re getting with a waterpark if you’re going down slides. I’ve been on a slide before (for the first time) when it ripped my suit. First and last time I went down that slide. It was probably because of an uneven slide connection of some sort. My butt also hurt. However, would my skin have been ripped off if I was wearing a thong? I’d rather not know. So for those reasons I don’t think I’ll ever wear a swim thong to a waterpark.

I didn’t think of that

Apparently, World Waterpark in West Edmonton Mall is thong friendly, even though their website states that thongs are not permitted. Can anyone confirm?

I’ve researched this a bit and not come up with anything. I really love water parks but even when the rules don’t specifically disallow them, it’s always likely you’ll be asked to change if someone complains. I think asking is a bad idea too. Often it’s not disallowed until it comes up then management has to sit down and decide if they want to take a stance on it. Also, I don’t think kids/families are an issue, but more often than not there’s at least a couple Karen’s in the mix that get worked up about it. I like my thongs and I think that’s dumb but I’m also not out to bother people, I’d rather be an in environment where no one is annoyed by my presence.

An adults only water park would be awesome but I don’t think the economics allow for it - kids and families are these business’s bread and butter. Some adults only resorts will have like, a couple of slides, but its not quite the same thing.

Just my opinion, but we need men wearing swim briefs to become more common at water parks first. The problem is men’s swimwear is so homogeneous that anything other than shorts sticks out a lot.

Imma be honest … the thought of blasting down a water slide in my Skinzwear M55 g-string is just asking for a wardrobe malfunction. :joy:
