Hi guys, I just booked a trip to Sardinia (Alghero) in July. Does anyone have expirience of reactions on the beach when wearing thongs? I’ve read that it might be okay but nothing for sure. It’s not illegal in italy but as the vacation period is at the peak I’m wondering if there is going to be sideways looks or comments.
I’ve been to the Cagliari area twice, about 10 days each time. At least 50% of the women were in thongs, 25% topless. I wore Skinz M67 most of the time (*) for both trips and there were no issues. Yes, there were a few “glances” and, on one occasion, giggles from a pair of teenage girls.
(*) Two exceptions: I took a kiting lesson for an afternoon and wore a thong with a drawstring because it stays in place better. Ditto for an all-day snorkeling cruise, where I wanted it to stay in place better for all the swimming.

I habe not booked a hotel yet but as i book I’m going to check whit the also about wearing thongs at their pool/privat beach, lets see what happens, their answers are going to affect my hotel choise.
