I guess everyone has their own favorite beach activity. I’d love to hear what makes the experience enjoyable for you. And if wearing a thong changes how you spend your time at the beach.
When I’m at the beach alone, I usually like to read a book or a magazine. It can be a bit of a struggle though. Finding a comfortable position isn’t easy, and sunscreen tends to smudge the pages. Do you have any tips or tricks for making reading at the beach more enjoyable? I’ve thought about bringing a small pillow for support, but I usually keep my beach gear minimal so I don’t have to worry about carrying things if I go for a stroll.
When I’m with my family, I spend more time looking after my kid, so there’s less opportunity to relax with a book.
My GF and I go to our local beaches to SUP surf 2-3 days per week, “dawn patrol” (like, 5:45am) during the week and merely early (7am) on weekends to beat the crowds and catch some waves before the wind comes up. On weekends, we’ll stay another 30-45 minutes to get some sun or maybe take a post-surfing walk.
When we travel to places with beaches, we still arrive early to beat the heat and the crowds, and we generally try to do an open water swim. Again, we don’t stay long because she doesn’t really enjoy just lying on the beach and I don’t enjoy the noonday sun.
I think we’re not actually “beach people”, there are just some things we like doing at the beach (surfing, windsurfing, open water swimming).
On the rare occasion I can go to a beach, I would just lay out and tan. I’m way too scared of the ocean and have obly learned to swim in the past three years.
I do a lot of walking in my thong. Part of the thrill are people seeing you. I used to not look at people and would be laser focused but with sunglasses you can see if there is a reaction. Don’t take it wrong, only a small part of me likes to show off. For the most part I enjoy getting a tan walking walking the beach in a thong. I caught a lady once taking a picture of me when I turned around after I past her, it didn’t bother me, I waved at her again. I just got into SUP and have wore my thong doing that too. Overall just love feeling the sun on my skin. I’ll swim too when it’s not so cold but right now can’t be in the ocean more than a few minutes.
I do alot of SUP which is great exercise. I also like to go for dips about every hour to cool off. I wish the beach I frequent had a volleyball court as I love sand volleyball and that would be a great way to get an over all tan. I saw some others playing frisbee last year and decided I will bring one next year and hopefully do some of that.
Along with swimming, SUP’ing and SUP surfing might be the best low impact, full body workout I know of. You get shredded from your neck to your toes doing it. (I mean that about “toes” – there are foot muscles you didn’t realize you had until you start SUP surfing.)
Lie down and relax. Feel the wind blowing and sunshine
Typically, my wife and I open water swim for 15-20 minutes at a time and come back to shore before I get too tired - I’m not the best swimmer.
I do think throwing a frisbee around would be fun next time we go to the beach.
FL is starting to warm up and that means SUP time.
I just love relaxing and soaking in the sun and watching the world go by. And always in a thong or gstring. Next best thing to being nude.
Doing nothing, reading, walking, fishing. cooling off in the water, watching wildlife.
I enjoy soaking up the sun with my wife and an occasional walk to the water to cool off. Not many things are more relaxing. We also enjoy walking the beach a lot.
When i make it to a beach it’s a lot of just relaxing. If I can I do like doing a little SUP and go for a short open water swim. A walk on the beach is also a must.
SUP, tossing a football or frisbee around, beachcombing, volleyball if nets are available
A little bit of (almost) everything. Sunning, walking, climbing rocks, open water swimming, kayaking, painting, taking pictures, doing a self photoshoot, skipping stones (yes at the ocean), throwing logs and branches, throwing stones…
I have yet to try a bunch of activities as i almost always go solo. Volleyball seems like it would be fun…
