I’m in full agreement on Skinz! They’re a great company, though a bit pricey. However, it’s worth it sometimes to be able to get exactly what you want. Additionally, they’re great about putting suits on sale. That’s how I get most of mine, and it’s a fantastic way to try new cuts, colors, or prints you might not normally choose. It’s definitely helped me broaden my horizons.

I’ve struggled with the sizing of Grand Axis. I love their designs, but, whenever I get one, it feels off. The front, for me, is tight and uncomfortable if I get a pair that matches my waist and booty size. If I get a pair that is more comfortable in the front, then the waist and booty are huge and don’t fit well. I haven’t tried the updated (resized) versions of their products. Is there a noticeable difference in sizing?

For sure. Just got a new BodyGlove board from Costco last summer. Great board. You should consider upgrading if you need a new board and head up to Mpls lakes again.
I have not tried the Skinz tan thru suits. I would be interested to know how well they hold up as well.
Yes, Skinz frequently has sales on great styles. It is hit or miss for the style/color you are looking for. You generally have to act pretty quick, though, and check often as the popular sizes typically go fast. Black is always on sale, which is nice.

I’m a big fan of the Tangaland bag strings and the Skinzwear adjustable g-strings. They’re pretty skimpy and great for tanning. If I need something a little more conservative, I’ll wear a Musclskins poser with the 1/2 cm sides.
Some of those Tangaland suits are just flat out silly and impractical. As nature takes its course, sometimes unexpected, some of those suits are not constructed to contain anything. I guess that’s why I prefer a Desmiit or Rayze thong.
Being a man and wearing a thong swimsuit is already toeing the line in terms of general acceptance societally speaking. I think Tangaland suits that lean towards exhibitionism hurt the cause rather than promote male thong wearing. My kids have seen me wearing my suits and, of course, giggle or whatever, but I couldn’t imagine taking them to a beach and seeing some dude wearing a transparent swimsuit or one that exposes his genitalia.
Perhaps those suits are more for a nude beach, but then what’s the point of wearing anything at all at a nude beach?
I would really love to see mainstream brands come out with thong swimsuits for men.

I really like the Desmiit brand of thongs simply because they accentuate my glutes better than any other brand I’ve tried. The front has an ample amount of coverage, and the side straps are just wide enough to pinch down a little on the top of my glutes. Also, the back strap is short and supportive enough to feel ever present, but still disappear giving me the whale tail tan line.
Easejuicy is another brand that fits me similarly to the Desmiit brand. They are both of sturdy construction and inexpensive with a decent assortment of colors. However, any variation of their green colors, which do look amazing in person, also can fade very easily in a chlorinated pool. Hence, I buy extra pieces in those colors.

Yeah, some of their stuff is over the top, but they do make suits that cover everything and aren’t sheer.

I totally agree about transparent, micro, extreme suits. They’re only appropriate in public at a nude beach, IMO, and then I don’t really see the point. Why wear anything if you don’t have to? However, as long as people are being respectful, I support people wearing what they want.

My favorite is the Diëtz Henry swim thong. It’s by far the most comfortable I’ve tried. Super soft materiel, can’t feel the string. It’s a sexy cut. I’ve been wearing them for a long time and they hold up too.
