Summer is still over 150 days away in the Northern Hemisphere, but it won’t be long before the weather warms up and brands start stocking their shelves for the 2026 season. What do you predict and hope to see this year?
My prediction: A mainstream-ish brand will include a men’s swim thong in their 2026 collection. C-IN2 had one last year. It probably won’t be Speedo, even though they sold them for years, but perhaps a brand like 2(X)IST. I’m not getting my hopes up, but it would be great to see Turbo offer a men’s version of their women’s thong.
My hope: I’d really like to see a wider variety of classy prints along the lines of Charlie by MZ’s discontinued “Scarf” series with classic colors and retro styling updated for the modern era.
I don’t have any predictions but personally, I hope to spend a lot more time at the beach this year. I was in the hospital for a solid chunk of last summer and missed prime beach season haha so I’m hoping to get as much beach time as possible this year!
My hope/prediction is that makers will embrace national colours and flags in their designs. I recently bought a thong by aussie togs, which is blue with little Australian flags all over it. My motivation was this. In Australia there is a leftie trend to change our national holiday on Jan 26, because for some it represents Invasion Day. I think that is a stupid idea, so I want to wear the flag, and anyone who does not like it, they can “kiss my a_se!
The first trip will be in March for the World Baseball Classic. This is also during spring break, so Miami is going to have a lot of visitors from other states and countries. There are going to be so many thongers from all around the world.
The second trip will be in June for the World Cup. Again, a lot of foreign visitors will be coming to Miami, so the beach crowd will be truly international.
Totally agree, men’s swim is finally getting braver again, so a real thong showing up in a mainstream line wouldn’t shock me. And yes please to classy retro prints… way over the neon-everything look
I emailed them and they just responded. They said they are just out of stock and haven’t stopped making swim thongs. They said they will be back in stock in the spring!
