Email Notifications

The Thong Forum will be six months old next week. I’ve shared my vision in more detail elsewhere, but the forum’s success depends on its members. I’d appreciate your feedback on how things are going. To that end, I’ll be creating a few polls about the forum’s operation to help ensure it continues to evolve in a way that meets members’ needs. I’ll space them out over time so they don’t take over regular discussions.

Email Notifications

Email is essential to the forum’s operation. New members must verify their email address, and the email associated with your account is the only way to regain access if you forget your password. By default, Discourse sends notifications when someone replies to your posts or takes other actions related to you. These notifications can be adjusted or turned off entirely.

Your email address is never shared with anyone, and I have no plans to send marketing emails to members. I hope no one ever receives a message from this forum that feels like spam.

To help me understand how members feel about the email notifications, please take a moment to participate in this poll.

  • I’m satisfied with the default email settings.
  • I wasn’t satisfied at first, but I changed the settings and I’m happy now.
  • I’m not satisfied with the default settings, and I don’t know how to change them.
