Fort De Soto Park, Pinellas County, Florida, United States

Wife a I were out there on Friday. I was in an orange thong and her in dark purple. Beach was pretty empty when we got there at 11:30 but filled up pretty quick with other thongers. Probably 10-15. Thought I would see more evidence of the rouge wave but seemed pretty normal to me. The water was amazing, very refreshing but a little choppy.

Ok folks- I need your help. But first, please know that my wife and I wore our matching thongs today and it was EXHILARATING! I will admit it took me 15 minutes of her talking to me and I may have sneaked an adult beverage out- but I did the seated shimmy out of my Bermuda shorts and was there bare-cheeked in front of all to see. We are social nudists but was next level! So exciting.

so here is where I need your help- we parked at the northern most part of the north parking lot and then walked further north(it’s Saturday and the place was packed). My wife seems to think to find fellow “thongers” (love that new word for my vocabulary) we should have been in the roadside parking area(sand/grass) between the northern parking lot and the concession area south of it.

Where should we be to have a thonger meeting?

I was at the Fort Yesterday. I ran into my beach buddies with plenty of families and board shorts on the guys everywhere. Ladies were a mix of suits, thongs, bikinis, one-pieces. I had a 10 minute conversation in front of them all. I didn’t notice anyone staring and no one said anything. It’s been almost 3 years since I started to wear a thong to the beach, I still get nervous but more comfortable being out in a thong then I ever been. I still like the seculuded areas, just personal preference. I had plenty of people all setup around me. I was the only guy in a thong and I didn’t care. Some of the guys who like to hang out in the thong area walked out south in their board shorts but saw me walking in my thong around the regular folks. Two ladies were staring at me so I made a point to walk by their camp and said “Hi” to break the ice that yes there is a guy wearing a swim thong at the beach.

We are planning on going this Friday to see if we can find the right spot and meet like minded friends. We just moved to the area, so all of this is new…

seems like the "no man’s land " between the parking lot that is near the concession stand and the huge north parking lot is where to go. Park the car in the sandy grass and walk a sandy trail to the beach- that about right?

That will get you to the spot you’re looking for.

Absolutely. I shared these gos coordinates in a message with someone else on here. This is where I usually park and walk doen the path thru the dunes and hangout on the beach anywhere from there or to north (right once you hit the beach).

27.6249642, -82.7359973. Use these coordinates.

I was out Sat, the beach was very packed, even the secluded area got busy. I didn’t let it bother me and did my walks, swim, and laid out. When I was laying out a couple walked passed and setup right next to me. I wasn’t annoyed just not used to having someone setup right next to me but the beach was more busy then usual. I just acted normal and the lady waved. She was wearing a cheeky-thong and her partner wore board shorts. Not a thing was said about my thong. It was super windy but overall a great day and keeping my tan going.

So my wife and I went out there today, the Friday before Memorial Day and it was relatively quiet. We finally found the right space and cross paths with a gentleman with a deep tan wearing a dark purple thong. We exchange pleasantries and he kept walking. Seemed like a nice guy, was it one of you? We were under the big Nesso tent that we struggled to get up.

That was me, sent you a PM.

Took Friday off and met CaptainAwesome. Ran into 2 other thong couples I know. One commented how much more busy Ft. Desoto is getting. I told them it will happen in waves. The word is getting out, however I’m not worried about it getting super packed in the secluded area because parking is limited and the no-see-ems will eat you alive. I don’t mind being around people as long as we’re all spread out and Desoto offers that. For a Fri I knew it wasn’t going to be that busy and took advantage. I got a little cooked that day but I love the feeling of being at the beach, walking and swimming in a thong. Having the sun hitting your skin all over is energizing. Had a manatee go right past me, only 5 ft away, I enjoyed the moment and had a great day.

I had two couples setup about 100 feet from me. I always hope to see ladies in a thong but hey were wearing normal bikinis. Well eventually they got a show when I got out of my seat. I caught them looking but when I walked past them they didn’t say anything. As I guy I have accepted we are going to standout when we wear a thong. It’s a natural reaction. But got to see plenty of ladies looking great in their bikinis.

Hi fellow thong enthusiasts. New here. I’ve been going to Ft Desoto on and off for years. Since I like to wear as little as possible at the beach (nude would be best and I often am at FD) like you all I find FD the best spot because it’s thong friendly and popular with others. I get my thongs from Amazon because I’m price conscious. Around the house I often wear just a pareo wrap. I’m near Clearwater so I’ll pick a day likely next week to come back down.

So I decided to do a beach day here at Fort De Soto. Even though the weather is calling for 50% rain it also means 50% sun so I’ll take a chance. I had to stop on the way down because I forgot my sandals so I picked up a cheap pair of crocs from the dollar store. When I got here, I was the only one here so I set up my umbrella as a cabana down by the large piece driftwood about 2/3 away to the tip. We got a fair amount of walkers for Wednesday. And since I got here, there’s one more person who set up about 60 yards down from me. Suns popping in and out sunscreen applied. I’ve got my blue G string that has the adjustable slide to a teardrop shape. The path was dry and only a few mosquitoes were biting.

I tried honeymoon 2 years ago. Didn’t care for it.

Have you ever tried Fred Howard park in Tarpon? I haven’t yet. Not sure if it is thong friendly.

Was at the Fort yesterday. A medium crowd for a Monday but since it’s summer I expected a small to medium crowd. Had plenty of space to spread out. I wore my new Bang Aqua Color swim thong. It’s darker compared to the picture. I took some pics for my IG: @hizurutees. The color looked good with the suit. Had a mom and her two kids setup nearby. She wore a one piece red suit with a small back. She let it ride up like a thong. When I walked bye she waved and greeted her as well. Such a relaxing day soaking up sun, swimming, walking, and tanning.

I have that same suit it’s one of my go to for the Gulf Coast beaches. It’s fits great and looks great, I have several including the blue with flamingos. My wife prefers I wear the BANG brands to the beach as she finds them more “family friendly” LOL.

It’s my favorite swim thong, so comfortable. Yeah for a thong Bang brands look conservative. From the front it looks just like a speedo. Of course all thong in the back. When I walk by someone sometimes I’ll turn around after they pass me to catch them looking. I prefer the solid colors and they have great choices.

I have the blue with flamingos as well. Haven’t worn it yet though. My wife loves flamingos and suggested I get it so I’m saving it for our next beach trip. She doesn’t know I bought it. Bang! makes great swim thongs and they have great customer service.

I bought that color during their Memorial Day sale. It’s a great color and definitely accents the tan. Bang! is one of my favorite brands as well. Great quality and customer service.

A few members of the SunSplash Thongers group will be heading to Fort De Soto this Saturday. The weather is looking great, and we’re hoping for a strong turnout of fellow thongers to join us for a fun day in the sun.

If you’re planning to be there, or want to come hang out with us. Let us know or DM us here. We look forward to seeing everyone on the beach!
