JOR is a recent find. I don’t know much about the brand. It’s based in Medellín, Colombia, but the website doesn’t offer any additional details. A few of the patterns caught my eye, so I decided to give JOR a try.
The product details on JOR’s website are sparse. One thong I purchased is unlined, another is lined, and two are lined and have inner drawstrings. The product pages include the fabric blend and sizes, but no indication of whether or not a swimsuit is lined or has a drawstring. The drawstrings have metal end caps, which might look nice if they were on the outside, however, I’d prefer a knotted or more minimal inner drawstring.
I typically wear a size small. I purchased the small JOR swim thong, and it fits well. The side seams range from 1.25-2.25 inches, which is comparatively wide. Todd Sanfield’s “Shore” Thong has a 1.25" side seam, and the side seam on the Skinz “M67” T Back Thong is only 0.75" wide. I have a short, slim build. The JOR thongs with the 2.25" side seams come up a bit too high on my waist for my taste.
The fabrics are soft and comfortable, and the patterns are attractive. All of the swimsuits have a rubbery JOR tag on the outer front left hip. The inner tags tear out easily.
Orders ship from Colombia. Shipping is $15. It takes about a week for orders to ship, and both orders I placed arrived a few days after I received the tracking numbers.
If you like the look of the wider side seam and don’t have strong feelings about the inclusion or lack of lining and drawstrings, JOR might be worth a look. I really like the patterns, but the cut of the JOR swim thong doesn’t suit me as well as other brands.
