“Classic” is an apt description of the Skinz “Classic T Back Thong Swimsuit”, which, due to Skinz’s generic product names, is often referred to by its style code: “M67”. If you ask someone to close their eyes and picture a thong, there’s a good chance it will look something like this swimsuit.

Skinz was founded in 1986. Their website hearkens back to that era. It’s reminiscent of the early web, and the models would not look out of place in a catalog from the late 80s or early 90s. There is occasionally some odd behavior, but the site generally works. I’ve placed multiple orders over the past few years and have never had any problems. I would, however, prefer if they updated the style of their photos. The harsh lighting, white backgrounds, and post processing make it difficult to tell what a swimsuit will actually look like in person.

I typically wear a size small, and the small “M67” fits well. The size chart is relatively accurate. If you are between sizes or on the smaller end of the range, I’d recommend sizing down. I’ve tried the medium “M67”, and it’s too big for me.

The fit strikes a nice balance between conservative and skimpy. There’s no mistaking that the “M67” is a thong, but it’s not overly revealing. It sits higher on the hips than thongs that resemble swim briefs. The “M67” does not have a drawstring and usually isn’t lined. I wouldn’t wear it to swim laps, but it’s perfect for hanging out at the beach or pool.

Skinz offers the “M67” thong in a variety of colors and patterns. If you don’t like what they have in stock, it can be custom ordered in it any fabric for an additional $10. The front lined version can only be custom ordered. I have only tried the “M67U”, the unlined version.

The basic nylon-lycra fabric is about what you’d expect. Skinz has shiny and matte solids and a variety of patterns. It can be difficult to tell how shiny some of the fabrics are due to the aforementioned problem with the photos. The ThinSKINZ fabrics, which I prefer, are lighter weight and feel silkier. They’re more comfortable and stretchier, which I think improves the fit. Some of the ThinSKINZ fabrics, however, are more transparent than others.

Special and Custom Orders can take about 3 weeks to ship. In stock items ship within a few days. Shipping fees are a bit higher than average. Standard shipping costs $10-15. Expedited shipping is significantly more expensive.

The “M67” is one of my favorites. If you’re just getting into thong swimwear or prefer the classic style, it’s a great option.

I too have a coupe of the M67 thongs. It covers what needs to be covered but is not overally large. The M31 is a more full coverage but still a thong.
I highly recommend Skinz!

I thought the “M31” was the “Y Back G String”.

Skinz’s product names and style codes are confusing. Their style guide is a good resource if you want an overview of everything they offer.

Yes you are true. I was referring to the coverage in the front.

Thanks for the clarification, @csnipwb.

The M31 is my go-to g-string, however, I don’t wear it often. G-strings are little too skimpy for the places I frequent.

I have only purchased the fuller coverage swimsuits from Skinz. The low volume (Stuffit) pouch looks smaller than I prefer.

I have both. Yes the M31 definitely covers more in the front but the back is a G-string.

@csnipwb and @HizuruTees please feel free to post reviews of the M31 or any other Skinz swimsuits. It would be great to hear your thoughts. You can create a new topic under the “Brands” category.

Couldn’t agree more. The M67 is my all time favorite. It is revealing and allows for a great tan, yet not extreme. It’s perfect for any beach or general sunning. I tried the black ice material. Very nice material, but it faded in the sun after about 5 times. I would probably shy away from that material for sunning. The regular fabrics are great and hold up very well. The chlorine in pools wreak havoc on them. Perfect for the lakes and ocean.
