I hate winter. The weather here is cold and rainy, and I often suffer from seasonal depression due to the short, overcast days. I won’t be going outside without a hat and coat for a while.
Fortunately, the gym I belong to has a coed spa area with a hot tub, sauna, and steam room that connects the men’s and women’s locker rooms. Regular exercise helps with my depression, and I almost always spend some time in the spa before showering and heading home. The policy does not prohibit thongs. Based on feedback from members, the manager requested that they not be worn in previous years, but has since changed their position. Thongs are not common, but, as far as I know, they have not caused any issues recently. Having a place to relax while wearing a thong makes the winter months more bearable.
Do you have any opportunities to wear thong swimwear during the winter?
I can only wear a thong at home during the winter. There are no gyms with a spa or standalone spas anywhere near where I live. I wish I was in a locale where I could take in a weekly or bi-weekly visit. My only hope would be to install a hot tub in my backyard, but it would cost a small fortune to make it private.
I live in California and wore a thong to the beach on Saturday. Unlike most of the locals, I like the cool Pacific and had no problem going into the water and swimming around. If the temps get above 60° and there’s no cool wind, I count that as a blessing.
I do miss summer, though; the days are longer, and the water is not as chilly. I went on Sunday too, but I only wore a bikini. Sun and seawater are the best medicine for stress.
Although I don’t know my gym’s policy on thongs, I highly doubt they’re allowed. Since my gym is in the same town where I teach, I wouldn’t wear one even if they were. So, my winter thonging is mostly limited to using them as loungewear around the house. Sometimes, I’ll even toss one on at the start of a shower or bath just to get that feeling of being somewhere warm and swimming in a thong for a few minutes. That probably sounds odd. Does anyone else do the same?
I’ve thonged a few times this winter. On Christmas Eve, my girlfriend and I got a room at a 2-star hotel in Mesa, AZ, and they had a heated pool in the back. It was about 77° outside.
This upcoming weekend, we’re going to a small town called Williams, AZ. We booked a hotel with an indoor pool and hot tub, so I’ll be thonging there as well.
Yes, at the gym pool and hot tub. I go on weekends when it is less busy. I go to a chain club with many locations and had to switch locations since the one closest to my house closed. There are no posted rules on swimwear type, just that a swimsuit is required. I have had no issues whatsoever. The only problem is that the gym is insane these days with all the New Year’s resolution types. I can’t wait until they start dropping off.
I don’t think this is odd. I wear Cocksox swim briefs, Cocksox swim thongs, and the-bikini.com tear drop g-strings as daily underwear. In between the weekly laundry, I will wear them to the shower and then take them off to hand wash them. I then hang them on coat hangers. When washed with the laundry, they are always put in a mesh bag and washed in cold water. This allows everything to last much longer.
I dislike winter! Even here in the desert, the cold weather gets to me. I’m definitely a warm-weather girl. I know that here in AZ, the temperatures aren’t reaching anything close to what other members might be experiencing, but for me, it’s still a little depressing nonetheless.
I have one friend who has a hot tub I can use on rare occasions, but other than that, I don’t have any other easy options. I’m not a member of a gym or fitness place.
Thankfully, winters don’t last long here, and I’ll be back to my regular thonging schedule soon. I’m losing my tanline!
I just picked up an inflatable hot tub, because the winter here in Utah has been killing me too, haha. It has been so nice to be able to hang out in it to bypass the winter blues.
I’m in Arizona as are a few others in the forum. My go-to wintertime activity is hitting the hot tub at my condo complex on winter evenings. I haven’t had an issue with wearing a thong or g-string there as 90% of the time nobody else is there.
Two years ago, I started with cold swimming in lakes and rivers. What seemed crazy at the beginning is now a habit which I won‘t miss anymore.
The fresh feeling is simply amazing, it’s good for the immune system and the regeneration after sports.
Surely you have to be in good health, going only for a few minutes and not make competition with others. Otherwise it can be dangerous.
Yes and what other swimwear than a thong could be more suitable? When people see someone swimming in the winter, they pay attention anyway.
Normal swimming pants get too much wet and changing them would have to be done outdoor. So as a passionate thong wearer I prefer to accept being a little more in the focus.
