I live in the Pacific Northwest with my wife and our dog. We don’t get much sunshine here (less than 50% of the year), but I try to make the best of the summers, which are quite pleasant.
Besides running the Thong Forum, I enjoy good food and wine and supporting the arts (theater, ballet, jazz, etc.).

I’m a thonger and g-string lover from Australia. I love the beach (my wife not so much) and enjoying the sun and body surfing. My wife and I have a shared love of the arts (galleries, concerts, ballet, etc). Hoping a day will come again when thongs and g-strings are accepted as normal for guys and not just girls - bring back the 80s/90s in that regard! At least here, speedos (Budgy Smugglers) are making a comeback among some of the younger guys who are beach regulars after a period where they almost disappeared having been the dominant swimwear for decades. Enjoying this forum with like-minded people.

Hi! my name is Tim, and I live in Pennsylvania. I bought my first thongs way back in 1990. I bought red and black string thongs. Very small. Thongs go in and out of style with me, and I have gotten into them again lately. A sale of Pump! thongs pushed me into getting three this summer.
Last year, I bought my first swim thong, from Todd Stanfield.

I am married and have children. When I was single, I did wear strings as underwear. Getting married, it took more than ten years, before I had the courage to tell to my wife about this passion. Now she accepts it and wears also strings as underwear.
Around four years ago, I started to wear thongs also for swimming, but only when I go alone. It’s still my little secret.
What kind of men wear thongs? Maybe I am not the average. For example, my first girlfriend became my wife and hopefully will be the only one until the end of my life.

My name is Paul and I started wearing thongs and g-strings about 35 years ago now.
My preferred style has changed somewhat over the years and these days and I’m now very much into wearing either a right sided one-sided thong or a single rear stringed slingshot.
Anyone else share my passion?

Thonged here also from the Pacific Northwest area. Started with thong underwear probably around 25 ish years ago if I had to guess. Got some thongs as swimwear right before Covid arrived. Realized life was short and have been swimming my daily laps in thongs since Covid. Always looking for more thong friendly places and friends. Always trying my best to help get thongs (esp male thongs) accepted everywhere possible.

I live in a very land-locked part of PA in the north central area. 2-1/2 hours from both Pittsburgh, Erie, and Buffalo. I have been wearing minimal swim briefs since high school (~45 years ago). I started wearing g-strings and thongs privately about 10 years ago. In 2020 I decided to take the plunge and wear them to a public beach. I decided to go to Daytona Beach because all beaches in Volusia County are thong legal. In October 2020 I was there for two weeks. I got the best tan in my life wearing nothing more than the men’s tear drop g-string from www.the-bikini.com. I do not know about the hotel pools because I stayed with a friend in nearby Port Orange. You would have to call the hotels and ask. I think the Hilton would be the most accommodating with it being the most “international” hotel in the area.
How I knew thongs were OK on Daytona Beach is for three reasons.

I saw two sisters wearing g-stings (not thongs) and tiny tops on Daytona Beach every day I was there for two weeks. They were always in the same spot near the pier. As I was walking north towards the pier, they were always to the left of the driving lane. This part of the beach had no hotel, condo, or house there. After I saw them confidently wearing g-strings, I immediately switch from wearing a Cocksox swim brief to the men’s tear drop g-string from www.the-bikini.com. I wore a different color every day. One day they approached me and commented on my swimwear choice. They had a very thick Boston accent. The one sister kept complaining about not being able to go topless. I told her they could go to the nude Apollo Beach not far away. If I would have had my own car there, I would have offered to take them to the nude beach. You can’t miss them because they go to the beach every single day and their tan proves it.

I specifically asked the beach police and they said as long as the genitals are covered, you are good. In fact, as I was sitting in a beach chair one day, an officer drove up to me to ask if I was naked. I politely said no and he could see I was wearing a g-string. He just shook his head and drove off. Every day, I confidently walked the length of the entire beach, regardless if it was desolate or crowded. I walked right through the crowds, families and all. Every so often I would take a quick shower or go into the ocean to cool down. Believe me when I tell you, I go A LOT of positive comments and a lot of pictures were taken, both with and without my permission. I only had one negative experience towards the end of the trip where I was attacked by a woman as she was screaming at me for what I was wearing. I just told her to back off because it was legal. The next day one of the toll booth operators said they would have called the police so I could have pressed charges. I said I would have declined anyway because I did not want to be standing 100 yards away from my setup spot, with no other clothes on, while wearing a white g-string, and being interrogated by the police. I thought it was best to remain calm and just walk away from the situation.
Would I do it again? ABSOLUTELY. I have zero issues wearing the most minimal swimwear wherever I go. I am always mindful of the environment and the rules, both legally and socially, and wear different coverage suits. It would be wonderful if I could just wear the g-strings at all locations, but this would not be accepted at the local swimming pool, at the nearby water parks, or at the PA state parks. This is why I am planning an epic trip to South Florida, either in the fall of 2025 or 2026. I would start at Daytona Beach, work my way south through Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Key West, and then came back up north on the gulf coast towards Tampa. I had a goal to get a lot of sun during the summer of 2024. My plans did not work out. I am always searching and researching for places to go, either for long weekends or extended trips. Heck, I even searched for pools on Swimply and there are none in my area.
As far as my swimwear brand of choice, I swear by Cocksox. They fit perfectly like a glove and never need to be adjusted. I have been buying them for 10 years now. I wear the swim briefs and the swim thongs daily as underwear. There is no protrusion when wearing them as underwear. The swim brief has the original pouch, which holds the package up and out, but not like a missile thongs available elsewhere. The swim thong has the snug pouch. The two pouches are indeed different, but not much. I have the swim trunks, swim briefs, and swim thongs, from most to least coverage. This is so I have all the bases covered depending on the rules at each venue.
I hope everyone on this forum has the courage to wear thongs in public or is gathering up the courage. Reading the posts from all members should make it easier because we are not alone. It would be great for everyone to introduce themselves in increase the activity on this new forum. I look forward to reading about everyone’s experiences as I hope you read about mine.

I’ve been into thongs since I was in my teens and have just always enjoyed minimal swimwear.
I’m a huge supporter of people being able to wear whatever makes them happy and feel good without being judged. No matter the sex, orientation, race, size or age. I wish more people were more accepting. After all, it’s only a tiny bit of fabric, and I’ve never heard of anyone getting injured by another person wearing a thong! lol

Hey there! 34 from Ontario here. I’ve been in the expanded universe of underwear for over a decade. Began to branch out with swim briefs the last couple of years and picked up a few swim thongs along the way. Still getting used to the brief’s reception and comfort, and thongs are that next step again.

So great to have another way to connect with like-minded people. I have been thonging since I got into bodybuilding in my mid twenties. There’s no better way to enjoy the beach/sun than in a thong. I sun regularly at the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, and I have to say thong popularity has increased greatly over the past few years. It’s great to see both female and male thongers at the lakes whenever I go. Unfortunately, this year has wound down, but I’m looking forward to next year already. Feel free to reach out and chat.
