I’m a 60-ish guy living in the Boston/Cambridge area, in very good shape (really) on account of being a lifelong athlete (skiing, windsurfing, SUP surfing, swimming, hiking, climbing, etc). Several years ago I got a couple of fairly “modest” thongs (Jack Adams’ Bondi, no longer made alas) for wearing under wetsuits so I could more easily get in/out of the wetsuits without going commando. I realized that, despite the fact that no other guys around here wear thongs, nobody actually cares, so since then I’ve worn them exclusively. Once or twice a year, a pair of teenage girls will giggle (LOL, it’s always teenage girls and it’s always two), but otherwise nothing. I’m not convinced my GF loves them on guys, but she always wears thongs to the beach, and why should she have all the fun?
I snagged a couple of smaller thongs (Skinz M67) which are my preferred go-to, but they are a bit racier so I’m careful to “read the room” before wearing those.
Our local break is Nahant, north of Boston, where we SUP surf all summer. Sometimes we go the Boston Harbor beaches (much nicer than you think, the Boston Harbor cleanup is a miraculous success story), to the outer beaches on Cape Cod, and down to Rhode Island as well. Women in thongs? Many. Guys in thongs? Just me.
I used to surf @ Nahant in the late 90’s-early 2000s. Had a friend who called it “Isle De Tampoona” . Used to occasionally catch a morning swell there and rush back to my apartment and still make it to work by 9:30! That was long before career mode, wife, kiddo, etc
Nothing like stepping out of a wetsuit in the snow in February with the wind blowing out of the northeast at 25. I would do the old towel trick and freeze while getting changed. I started wearing thong underwear right around that time but a thong swimsuit would have helped!
Nahant and Boston Harbor are so much cleaner than 15-20 years ago, bordering on pristine. Even Revere Beach is clean these days. It’s amazing what a few decades of patient work will achieve.
(Well… after storm runoff in the late summer, it can be a bit sketchy.)
Greetings from Orlando FL, I love this forum. I am 38 years old. My first thong was bought by my wife, from that moment I have had several. When we lived in Miami we both wore thongs on the beach (Halouver) but few were few times. She usually uses them. These days we have visited Fort de Soto and although I don’t wear a thong but a speedo I was surprised to see so many men in thongs.
We would like to know more beaches where this practice is common in Florida.
Hi I’m new here. I’m from Ohio to and I love wearing thongs. I love the way they feel on me. I have to say that I buy them constantly lol. I have enough of them for all of us I think. I to would like to know where do guys go in Ohio that are into this kind of thing and do you know where is a good store or site to go to so I can buy even more thongs lol. I joined a while back but haven’t commented in this thread yet. I’m an East Coast guy who has worn thongs for over 10 years. Predominately in the Carolinas and lower Mid-Atlantic but I get to Florida and the New England area occasionally. The wife loves it and encourages it. I keep in shape and, exhibitionist at heart and she enjoys showing me off. My favorite thongs currently are the Skinz M77 and Tropical Thongs bulge suits. There aren’t many things in life more liberating than stripping down to your thong and taking a walk to the water or into the pool. Suns out buns out!
My favourite brand is probably Coyote Jocks. But I also have a good number of Charlie by MZ as well. Pricey, but I love their thongs and underwear. Black Friday deals are definitely the best though.
I don’t have immediate plans to visit Fort Lauderdale but it is something in the near future. Also possibly Miami. I enjoy lap swimming as I’m extremely fearful of open water swimming. Can you recommend public or even airbnb places with lap pools? Standard 75 ft swim lanes is what I’m looking for.
Hello! I have been posting on the board for a few months but haven’t introduced myself in this thread. I have worn thongs as underwear for a long time and now almost exclusively wear them. I’m 47, straight, and recently divorced.
I first wore a thong as a swimsuit this March at Haulover Beach and as well as near Daytona. Loved it. I made a post about it asking about thong friendly beaches in Florida before I left on the trip.

Hello! I’ve been an avid thong wearer for a 25 years and recently found this forum.
I started wearing thongs when I was a teenager as underwear. In the past 13 years my wife and I now wear them was swimwear when we travel on holiday. It started as a dare between my wife and I to both wear one to the beach on one of our trips. The first few trips we would avoid wearing them at crowded beaches but now we really don’t care and will wear them to any beach or waterfall when we travel. We’ve been to multiple countries in the Caribbean, South America and the Pacific. I keep track of all the places we’ve traveled on a google maps and make notes about our experience with saved points. This way if I travel back to that area I have some history on what it was like last time.
I’ve been to Belize as seen in the prior posts and we both wore thongs everywhere without any issues. We stayed in Hopkins at a vrbo on the beach. In country traveled to Rio on Pools, Big Rock Falls, Maya King Waterfalls, Placencia and wore a thong at all of them.
Typically when I’m the only male in a thong I see at the beach when we travel. I find that people really don’t care. I’ve had plenty of strangers talk to us on the beach while we are in our thongs and not one person has ever made a negative comment.
My first swim thongs were the Dore brand when they were available (miss these) and then switched to Skinzwear. I find the Hom Plumes thongs are very comfortable as underwear. I still have a few of the Dore brand thongs I wear for swimwear as they have been very good quality. I recently started sewing my own thongs to replicate the Dore thongs.
