I’m 54 and from New South Wales on the East Coast of Australia where I have always lived. I have worn thongs as underwear and swimwear since I was 17, progressing from briefs before that. Saw a picture of Elle McPherson getting out of a pool in a yellow thong and was hooked..
Like most people here, I went from being very nervous to wear thongs in public to now wearing them 99.9% of the time. I’m now a committed thong wearer, tanned and shaved, and love being that way. With age comes wisdom, confidence, and a realisation that life is too short. They have always been a motivation to look after myself, and give be an enormous sense of freedom both physically and mentally.

I am a married straight male proud thong wearer, who loves to wear a thong together with my wife when tanning in our garden, at the beach or by the pool. In 2026 we are planning trips to Sardinia and Sicily to enjoy Italian food and culture, and of course tanning and thonging at the beach
Fellow straight male dane here. I mainly thong on the beaches on the north coast of Sjælland and on the beach in the northern part of Køge Bugt. My next big step would be a hotel pool abroad on vacation.

I finally made the step and signed up for this site. I have been on another site for quite some time. I’ve been an avid thong wearing male for many years. I spend much of my time in the Great Lakes region of the USA, but travel extensively. I’ve had the opportunity to wear a thong on several beaches around the world. Most of the time I am the only male on the beach wearing a thong. Remarkably I have a group of friends that both support and encourage my swimwear choices. I’ve had experiences from exotic to mundane and from exciting to frustrating. Fortunately for me, I’ve had many more positive experiences than negative experiences with wearing a thong at beaches, pools and resorts.
Saying hi from Montreal, Canada. My first thong outing was in 2016 at a clothing optional beach in Vancouver, BC, so I have been wearing thongs in public for ten years.
Since Montreal is an inland city, I don’t have many beach options. That being said, I wear my thongs at pools and parks in the city. Never had any complaints or issues while being out in a thong.
I have about 10 thong swimsuits, and they are mostly from Gregg Homme. The skimpiest swimsuit I own is a Malebasic g-string. I wore it at a pool party last year, and I got so many looks. That g-string swimsuit is for South Beach.
Hello - Decades ago I started thonging (in a Rudi Gernreich original) at Herring Cove Beach on Cape Cod but now frequent East Beach in Charlestown, R.I. It’s very sparsely populated so thongs and g-strings are routine. Nude is illegal but I’ve gone years between law enforcement sightings.

I will be honest and say that my first choice of swimwear is nothing. Sadly i cant be nude everwhere. So up until recently i have worn speedos at the clothed beaches. Then i saw a swim thong on line and decided to order it. I am not totally new to thongs as i frequently wear them as underwear. When my swim thong arrived i took my self to the beach wearing it. Im not sure my family is ready for this so i went alone.
While i got a few looks, there were no negative comments. The thong felt great and i gradually got more confidence. I didnt really understand the lack of confidence in the first place as being totally nude doesnt worry me at all.
It was a great experience and i will be buying more thongs and make them my regular clothed beach wear. I also want to introduce my family to my thong wearing so it becomes normal at beaches with them too.
I’ve liked wearing less or no clothes for many years and I like the beach but the unofficial nude beaches are further far away and not as nice. I’ve only fairly recently got into thong underwear which I’ve found way better when riding a bicycle and gone from there. There are plenty of quiet beaches around me where you only see a few people so it’s easy to thong in these situations or be naked but I like swimming too and prefer the safety of the lifeguarded areas. So I’ve joined this forum and started an IG to help work on my confidence to go to those busier beaches and connect with like minded people.

I’ve been wearing thongs for about 6 years (since I was 30), mainly in the summer, because my butt gets cold in them in the winter In the summer, I like to swim in them at the lake, unless I’m at a nudist beach. I have a muscular body and I like to show it off. Not many men wear thongs in our country, but I feel like that’s been changing lately, and sometimes people compliment me on them. I’m glad there’s a forum like this, and I look forward to interesting discussions.
I’m not from Orlando but I often go to a family condo in Cocoa Beach every year. It’s a rather conservative area. But I still thong there very often and walk up and down the beach. Never had a negative comment at all.
I’m from New Zealand, I’ve been wearing thongs for about 30 years, my Wife definitely doesn’t complain I wear them daily! I love to tan in my thong, but I haven’t thonged in public at the beach. In New Zealand that is, one day perhaps! Are there any others on here from downunder?
I’ve been wearing thongs as everyday underwear since my early 20s, and now in my early 40s, I’ve finally started wearing swim thongs in public as well. Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s era of board shorts, there was definitely pressure to blend in and a real fear of being judged.
I’ve always had a bit of an avant-garde streak, a desire to stand out rather than follow the crowd, but for a long time I didn’t fully lean into that part of myself. Embracing the swim thong has felt surprisingly liberating. In many ways, I wish I had done this earlier in life instead of waiting for “permission” from age or confidence.
What’s made it even better is the support at home. My wife and our two teenage daughters are confident in their own style choices as well, and having that kind of family support makes a huge difference. There’s something powerful about encouraging each other to be comfortable and unapologetic about what we wear.
I’ve also become a fan of the Orocojuco thongs on Amazon the value for the price is excellent, and they’ve become my exclusive choice of swimwear.
