I am originally from Pittsburgh and now live 2-1/2 hours away. Do you know thongs are allowed at the wave pools in Allegheny County? I try to go to any of them a few times a year. I usually go to Settler’s Cabin but had great success at all three pools in the past couple years.
I will usually wear small swim briefs or trunks when walking from the restrooms to my spot. Once there, I strip down to a thong or g-string. I do this to avoid any conflict with families with children, who are usually on the side nearest the entrance. However, after feeling more comfortable throughout the day, I have walked to and from the restroom wearing just a thong.
I know thongs are permitted because I specifically asked a manager. Additionally, the county police are on site at each location daily. They walk around from time to time and simply acknowledge my presence and move on.
I would be there 3-4 times a week if I lived closer. It’s too bad because the wave pools are the closest place I can legally wear thongs in public.

My wife did not like it that I did wear them. However I just kept on wearing them out of her sight. Of course she must have noticed my tan line But she never said anything about it.
When I met my current wife, a couple of years after my divorce from my first wife, I just kept wearing them, so she saw me in a thong quite soon. She was surprised as she did not expect such swimwear. Luckily she is fine with me wearing them. Together we have been hundreds of times together to beaches and swimming pools all over Europe. Me in a thong, she in a regular bikini, as she does not like them to wear, but looks at me with proud since she thinks I look good in them and she likes my self-confidence to just wear them in the open.
Hello fellow Thongers. I have been thonging for over 30 years and live in the Tampa/St area. Wear them as 24/7 underwear and as swimwear. I get out to the beach about once a week when the weather is good. Favorite local beach is Fort Desoto and will venture down to South Beach and Haulover yearly. Wife is a thonger too and usually will go with me on weekends. I like to go more frequently than her so I do go solo as well during the weekdays. Would be nice to have a thong buddy for those times. Happy to know there are so many others who share this passion.

Hi all, thong swimsuit enthusiast from NH here. 40s bi dude married hetero, wife likes them on me as much as I like them on me. I’ve been wearing them for a long time but am still shy and very selective when it comes to venues where I do so. I’ve gotten more confident over the years but still could be better. We visit St. Martin almost every year. Spain was probably the most comfortable I’ve ever been in a thong on crowded beaches.
I’m up in the mountains of NH, it’s a very beard and flannel heavy demographic. People don’t really do fashion let alone think about swimwear, so no friends up here with similar interests. Lucky for us, we have a big old farm along a major river with an incredible swimming hole which I tan by almost every day in the summer. I’m getting a small motorboat this year too so we’ll see what the lakes are like.
I would love to meet other people and couples to visit or plan trips. We’re a fitness / mountain sports couple that rock climbs, skis, hikes, backpacks and all that stuff at a pretty high level, which makes finding friends even harder. We love a good cocktail on the beach but we get antsy and have to have an activity too.
One last fun thing I have going on relevant to this forum is we will eventually put in some small cabins and glamping platforms on our land. I plan to have a clothing optional section and make it an adults-only venue with a strong LGBTQ friendly vibe. There’s nothing yet, but we do let friends camp here in the summer whenever they want. Maybe some here will be interested to camp, feel free to message me. Who knows if this will work, but I am hoping to organically grow the business without AirBnB and maybe not even a website. I always thought it would be cool to run one of those types of places where you have to be in the know, and make it more of a social experience than just a place to sleep at. We are avoiding taking on debt to build it, which makes it go slow, but will allow us to attempt this model not being under the duress of needing revenue to pay bills, which could force us to give in to the masses.

In my free time I like to exercise by playing football, swimming, cycling and CrossFitting. I typically wear thongs daily under my clothes but have, over the past few years, started to care less about being exposed but still lack confidence to wear at the beach etc. my current partner loves seeing me in thongs but doesn’t know about my desire to wear publicly. Ps when I say publicly I mean somewhere I wouldn’t be recognised but freely in an accepted space like beach, pool etc.
I have started to wear to the gym and in locker rooms but only when quiet will I change in open spaces. I also wore a thong in a French spa recently but again this was very quiet and was very discreet with covering up so I look forward to hearing about other’s experiences and hope to share some of my own too.
Hi all. Early 50s guy in SNJ - just outside of Philadelphia. Been wearing thong underwear for 20+ years and plan to start wearing thong swimwear this summer. It is not practical at our local beaches in NJ as they are all family-oriented. Many of the women wear thongs and it is accepted but I’ve never seen a guy in one. Anyway, the wife and I are planning a getaway this summer where we hope we can both enjoy wearing thongs at the beach and/or pool. We haven’t picked a location yet. We have heard that Palm Springs is a good option. Recommendations are welcome!
I definitely recommend the Avalon hotel in Palm Springs and they also offer day passes. It has two adult only pools and an adult only indoor/outdoor spa area. The vibe is chill and the food is good. There’s usually a few women in thongs and a few men in briefs.
Laguna Beach CA is also a good place to enjoy wearing a thong. The water is usually very clean and there is a good bit of wildlife that can be spotted in the deep waters. It’s the only beach I’ve been to in southern California where I’ve seen another man in a thong swimsuit besides myself.
Hi! I live in the Pacific Northwest! My wife and I are thongers. We see do not see a lot of sun except for the summer, and we tend to thong outside in mountain lakes and rivers. We are pretty outdoorsy, so outdoor activities are first, and we sunbathe when we are lazy or at the end of the day.
